Do hard things
Suddenly I have so many people tagging me. The thing is, I don't know if you guys are real human beings or computer-generated advertisements! Of course I don't mean this to you siying or justin, I know you guys and all. Hmm but sophia and sofia?
Well... Firstly, I don't understand what they're saying and secondly, their links are advertisements. But sorry if you guys are true humans! I really appreciate those who genuinely read my blog, cause I genuinely pour out who I am inside :)
OKAY enough talk!
I've been reading a really good book recently titled Do Hard Things by Alex & Brett Harris. I LOVE IT!
Check out www.therebelution.com!
Do Hard Things basically challenges us youngsters to rebel against the low expectations of an ungodly culture of the world, and to step out of our comfort zones to accomplish the mighty things that God has called us to do.
The world expects nothing of us since we're young and inexperienced, many think we're just a couple of goofy-goopers like Spongebob.
But I believe that I am meant for GREATER things than this, that I am created to accomplish MIGHTIER things for the glory of God :)
This book introduced me to a world where teenagers bless and impact the world, and it spurs in me the passion to want to be a Rebelutionary too!
I mean, there are TEENAGERS heading projects to provide clean water to people in Africa (Dry Tears, see http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2247273352), teenagers campaigning against modern-day slavery (Loose Change to Loosen Chains-LC2LC) and teenagers in charge of blessing the homeless with daily necessities (Hope 2 Others-H2O)!
I've always had the desire to bless people, to reach out to others who need the help that I am blessed to give, to be God's hands and feet to the broken world we live in. I believe many others have too. But I've also never really put much thought into accomplishing them.
I've been cheated into thinking time is the issue. >:/
Thank God I've learnt recently that time is never the issue when you're doing things for God. For whatever time you give to God, you'll always find time multiplied back to you!
God is greater than time after all :)
You have a heart to bless, you have a heart to serve, ask God! He will open doors of opportunities for you to, through Him, bless others.
And we serve out of the fullness within us, the overflowing life and love poured forth by God within us. Yes we want to bless the world for the glory of God!
I'm starting small by serving in my church, serving in my caregroup, being a mini-shepherd for my leader. I'm trusting God to help me walk the walk and not just talk the talk (or think the thought), for I really wana accomplish greater things in this season of mine.
And I believe doors will open for God Himself writes His desires in my heart, for I am His child :)
But that's just me, how about you and you and you and YOU? :)
Go check out Do Hard Things yeah! You should be able to find it at any Christian bookstores :)
God is moving, & young people
around the world are recognising
it & responding by overturning
low expectations and doing hard
things in creative, world-changing
ways.
-Alex and Brett Harris, Do Hard Things
Don't ask yourself what the world
needs. Ask yourself what makes
you come alive and go do that. For
what the world needs is people
who have come alive.
-Howard Thurman
